I disagree but if we're doing that than the whole band were heels. Griffith at one point questions himself to Guts, and breh gives him the cosign Whatever Griffith said to the Princess Charlotte Guts was his homie and what he does to him after is a betrayal.

To me Griffith was always a heel, the band were just his tools swayed by his charisma. Griffith loved guts but with as with all things it was tainted as everything had to be under Griffiths terms, if he was a real homie, he would have let that man walk away.

Did the band ever know what they were fighting for?

Griffith was always a heel to me, while he was never outright evil to his soldiers, they were nothing to him other than tools for him to reach his vision. You're right he was so charismatic the band devoted their lives to him. I was shocked at how the band got slaughtered but I was not shocked that Griffith would make that call, the ability to jettison anyone for his goal was always there

You hit all this on the head. Thats what I feel too about Griffith. I suppose we only differ on what we specifically call a heel, not on Griffiths. While I dont think it was a heelturn, I certainly aint finna die on that hill for him. nikka might very well be a heel.

The real answer is Aizen though. That nikka had even the viewers fooled. None of us expected that. Even his drip changed effortlessly.

Aizen was just that nikka, he flipped on his own "children" when they failed to live up to expectations against the Gotei 13.

Angel was the shyt.... every season kept building on each other... Then when they added my boy Gunn...

He came at the end of season 1. Wes came in mid season 1 to replace Doyle, Fred came end of season 2, etc.
