How can anybody look at these Diamondcutters and just think it’s winning based on nostalgia

At this point it’s a all about preference.

Part of the appeal for me is that the Diamond Cutter doesn’t often look “pretty”. Usually it looks like he was trying to break the other guy’s neck out of desperation trying to win. It also really felt out of nowhere and you rarely saw it coming.

Orton’s RKO usually has him taking much of the bump and some of his bigger spots feel super rehearsed. His RKO is a dope though and he actually has made it his own though which can’t be denied.

Imagine thinking people vote for the Cutter out of nostalgia but ignore that the RKO was practically forgotten before the 'RKO outta nowhere' meme brought it back into the mainstream. That is one of the only times WWE took something they didn't make popular themselves and didn't fukk it up.

That's how they turned the RKO in the popular spot finisher that it is today and while that is impressive it doesn't make up for the fact there's like a good solid decade of the move being utterly irrelevant.
