Nah breh. Nah

Do you live in Alabama?

You gotta come to Texas for Mexican food / Tex-Mex and Cali as well for Mexican food.

I've had some great hole in the wall Italian joints too.

Man I've been to Texas and had Texas' "famous" texmex....and that shyt taste like Mexican food everywhere else I've been.
Mexican food is all the same with very little variation. Its damn near impossible to fukk it up. Anybody can make it so it takes little skill.
Thus it'll always be overrated. :camby:

overrated: thai (laotian is better)

underrated: laotian (see above). moroccan food also doesnt get a lot of love in the US in my experience.

edit: also, i think hungarian food is underrated. this is the only non-mediterranean cuisine in europe that i really think is any good at all

lamb tajine, chocken tajine, all the tajines :wow:

shyt is underrated yeah

Overrated Cuisines and Dishes:
Italian - It just is. Still one of my fave cuisines.
Mexican - Same as my Italian statement.

Underrated Cuisines and Dishes:
Brazilian - It's great. Easily one of the best Latin American cuisines.
Japanese - There's a subtleness to it. Yet, still delicious.
Portuguese - One of the most slept on cuisines on the planet.

Cuisines and Dishes I've never tried but I've heard that they're good and/or underrated:
Somali - It does look good... Even if they have to have a banana mixed in with every meal. LOL
Kenyan - I wanna try their big 5: Nyama Choma, Pilau, Ugali, Chapati and Sukuma Wiki.
Senegalese - I've heard they're the best cooks in Africa. I wanna try the original Jollof Rice.

Yeah but going to any place who says "famous" Texmex is automatic red flag.

Gotta go to the legit Mexican owned semi-hole in the wall place to get real homemade salsa, homemade chips. If they have that, the rest will likely be great.

I had possibly the best tacos in my life 2 weeks at this place in Oak cliff :banderas:

Street tacos and such is def overrated tho. It's the new popular thing and is highly overrated

japanese as underrated? im used to people calling japanese a consensus GOAT cuisine in the italian/mexican category and pretentious food people calling it the most poetic/artistic cuisine. especially sushi, but also now ramen which has seen a craze recently

btw senegalese is amazing. if you ever in PG County go to Chez Dior
