Alex Hannum should have his spot on the top 15 coaches in nba history list. Doc is the most overrated "great" coach this century.

I'll always blame him for the 2010 NBA Finals loss. Completely botched that Finals series in every way possible

Also had a hand in losing in the 2011 playoffs as well

He then began to trick the Clippers and Sixers into him being a good coach. The Bucks knew all of this and still hired him. They deserve each other

Some of us were alive during Larry Browns run. The shyt he did would have gotten a black coach banished from the league back then but he stayed emploed.

Doc may not be the best coach but the Bucks roster is not a good roster. Dame is playing through the emotions and Lopez, Portis and Trent are shells of their former self.

The Roster is too slow

He doesn’t motivate guys to play for whatever reason. All of his teams end up hating him, some faster than others. The Celtics were a team full of vets who were old enough to know how to tune him out when necessary.

I also think at that point in his career before the hype around his name and with Thibs doing the X-O stuff it was different for them than his later teams.

Brown is way better than the other two and Doc is nowhere near as fraudulent as Karl.
I said the word overrated. Why when someone says the word overrated others imagine that it means the person must be one of the worst at their job?

Larry Brown is overrated. Many consider him one of the very all time greats. He used to be considered a top 10 American coach of all time, but he's not on that level, therefore overrated. He lost Olympics, didn't get along with young players and used to ditch teams like a mf. The guy is what you'd call a template coach. He needs certain players or he won't co-operate. Athens 2004 is the most obvious example when he had young prodigies and he didn't know shyt what to do with them. Rudy Tomjanovich has accomplished more as a coach than Larry Brown, and he didn't even make it to NBA's top 15. The guy has won two chips with Houston and then actually won the Olympics gold medal.

Doc Rivers mistake was not looking for a decent big man backup when KG went down in 09. After KG came back it became clear that he has lost a step and wasn't a dominant 2008 force anymore. So many bum ass big selections from Mikki Moore to God damn Big Baby Davis. Rasheed signing was a shyt show as well. Sheed was too lazy to do the work in the paint and kept shooting Antoine Walker threes - another bad free agent signing by Rivers and Ainge. Rebounding and the rest of presence in the paint is what cost them the series.

He also made Ray Allen run away from the Celtics. Whatever beef they had, Rivers clearly preferred no jumpshot having ass Avery Bradley over him. And Bradley really didn't get them anywhere. Avery was a 40% FG scorer the season when Ray won his Miami Heat championship. Oh well.
