Boston 07-08 had Thibs orchestrating the defense with newly acquired KG and sophomore Rondo along with guys like Perkins and Posey.

Doc was along for the ride. That Celtics star trio and team defense wasn’t losing that year.

I don’t even really give Doc credit for that ring.
I think more highly of D’Antoni than him :manny:

Larry Brown was a great coach. Insulting to put him with those two charlatans.
He's the only coach to lose Olympic gold with the full NBA roster. He is definitely overrated. Larry Brown was known for ditching his teams after a very unsuccessful season + hating hard on rookies.

Left the Pacers after missing playoffs in 96-97 and joined the Sixers to coach Iverson. Next season Pacers went to conference finals With Larry Bird as a coach.

His couple seasons with Detroit was the most successful part of his career, but he inherited Pistons that were moving up the ranks winning series before him.

After 05 Larry Brown was done and he kept scamming teams like the Knicks in 05-06, which was one of the worst Knick seasons ever. How does a coach go from NBA finals to the bottom of eastern conference next season? Overrated. Matter of fact, when he left the Pistons they won 10 more games next season. It's just they ran into Miami Heat that got carried by refs in 06 throughout the playoffs.

idk the best offense Brown could put around Iverson was "just shoot bro". I'm not a huge fan.

He was a million times better than Rivers though, Ill give you that.

Brown went to two conference finals with the Pacers, FYI. He gave Bird a winning core.

His couple seasons with Detroit was the most successful part of his career, but he inherited Pistons that were moving up the ranks winning series before him.
Ehhh, the Pistons were flaming out.

Also the Pistons never made a finals again, to use your Bird comparison. They had more talented teams too.

After 05 Larry Brown was done and he kept scamming teams like the Knicks in 05-06, which was one of the worst Knick seasons ever.
That’s all fine, but Brown coached 15 seasons before the 2005-06 season.

I’m not a Larry Brown fan for the reason you suggested in that he cuts and runs, but he was unobjectively a great college and NBA coach until the 2005-06 season.

If you look at Iverson’s career and his play style, I think he was the bigger issue than you want to believe.
