Not one GM in NBA history would hesitate to give up Kuz/DG for Oladiopo breh.
Dipo isn't a perfect fit for this year's team, but you have to look at LBJ wearing down and realize that he can't hold his primary duties for much longer. And Rondo ain't a long-term solution. Getting a great two-way guard who can take some of that burden off Bron would be huge.
Oladipo doesn't need to be the primary ballhandler. In 2018, Darren Collison averaged 4.8 seconds/possession for the Pacers, Cory Joseph averaged 4.4 seconds/possession, Oladipo averaged 4.1 seconds/possession, and Stephenson averaged 4.0 seconds/possession. That year Collison averaged 12 points and 5.3 assists, Oladipo averaged 23 points and 4.3 assists, Cory Joseph averaged 8 points and 3.2 assists, and Stephenson averaged 9 points and 2.9 assists.
So Oladipo has clearly proven that he can play alongside other ballhandlers.
So far as 3pt shooting he shot 36% in 2017, 37% in 2018, and 35% in 2019 before he got hurt. And a lot of those shots were fairly high degree of difficulty. In the few games after he came back he wasn't shooting well, so the hope/assumption is that he just has to recover fully. He's an adequate 3pt shooter in that teams definitely have to know where he is and D him up, so he spreads the floor and keeps things open for AD and LBJ just fine.
In Oladipo you'd have a guy who can shoot, create his own shot, create shots for others, and play elite defense. That doesn't come along very often. You'd give up any and all of the role players other than KCP to get him, and the only reason I'd hold back KCP is if you weren't 100% sure that Olapido had recovered from injury.
