Sadly alot of Jamaicans have adopted this notion that light is right, so many of them purposely date outside there race or breed with only light skinned people. If I had a dollar for every jamaican gf I had whose mother wanted her to date a white or lighstkinned man I wouldnt need a job.

Some are light due to the histories of slavery, and them having cac slave masters in there family tree. Then alot of them are light because they breed with other races. Out of all the black girls I know personally, its 90% Jamaicans that I know who have have dated chinese men, white men, indian men etc.

So I think its a mixture of all these things.

My current GF is Jamaican and her mother also wanted her to do date white

Then told her if me and her had kids our kids would be too dark

I can't speak for all islands but I do know black woman/Indian man marriages are common in Trinidad, I don't think it out numbers bw/bm marriages but it's more common than black man/Indian woman marriages.
