I gotta say brehs ...this was the best episode of the entire series. Felt like a mini movie. Marnie is still oblivious to everything 
- Not knowing Charlie was using
- Not knowing people still get robbed
Also Charlie acting all tough but bytched up at the robbery scene still tells me a little bit of the old Charlie is there.

yall think they would go that serious with marnie having HIV? Didn't think of that, but I saw that needle as a nod to this heroin epidemic. Now I'm more interested in what Charlie been up to
That was the first place my mind went to when I saw that needle.
But now I think they might shy away from that for fear of contributing to AIDS stigma.
I can see them going with a Marnie-tries-to-save-Charlie-from-himself storyline instead.

I don't like Lena Dunham, but she's really good at giving us characters that we love to hate. Even in this thread people don't get that all the disgust they have for the show is the exact reaction it wants to elicit
It occurred to me last night that this show is actually subversively macho in that even the most inane male characters are more stable and grounded than talented and nuanced female counterparts
