Iv heard the story as this.

Beans approached Gil on South Street. They argue and Gil got extra loud and confrontational. Beans swung on him a couple times and then they start tussling. While they are both still standing Beans football run blocks him into a car hard as shyt. Then while pinned Gil tries to get space and Beans pushes him down over the front hood of the car so it looked wild.

That's pretty much the same story I've heard, and been saying on here (and SOHH) for years. It wasn't really a fight - arguing, Beans swung, they tussle and Beans slams Gillie. And it got broken up a short time after. And it was All-Star Weekend, on South Street and Baby was there. But in those days, South Street...especially on a weekend like All-Star Weekend, was too crowded for anything to really happen. There was no room. Unless you were one of the people right up there, you wouldn't have been able to see anything but chaos, so it probably would've looked like Beans beat him up.

That's all anyone in Philly was talkin about from like Sunday on.

Oh and just so people can understand a little better. South St is a strip that has clothing store, a music venue, bars, restaurants and a bunch of other commercial businesses. It's not like a back block from a Philly rap video. South St is like the unofficial/official line that splits SP and Center City.
