Gil is a clown, but it is a scam. :manny:

It’s two weeks now, but it used to be a week. You not gonna learn how to be a back to basket gawd in a week, or even two weeks.

It really should be a proper camp for a month or so. And Hakeem didn’t have easy to learn post moves either.

I’ve always felt this was a weird operation, but these players keep going and 50k isn’t a lot for them.

I wouldn’t call it a scam. I think it’s overblown though

Most NBA players just do it to say they “worked out with Dream”. Like Melos game didn’t change at all, but he was already nice in the post. Dwight Howard didn’t learn a goddamn thing. Drummond didn’t do shyt. The list goes on and on. It’s just something to do in the off season that sounds cool.

Fam, we’ve all seen Dwight Howard.

The other thing a lot of people don’t understand about Hakeem’s post moves are that they were unique to him based on his background. It’s like Jordan trying to teach someone how to play like him.

HE TURNED DWIGHT INTO A MONSTER
YALL JUST WASNT WATCHING.

THEN HARDEN RUINED THE LAST YRS OF
HIS PRIME DOMINATING THE BALL.

My bad breh. I always forget you woulda been in the NBA were it not for…

Anyway, you don’t learn stuff like this at 24-25. You learn those building blocks at 12-13.

And what Hakeem did was calculus because he didn’t learn those building blocks but had crazy great feet because of soccer.

It worked for Kobe because he already had spectacular footwork and needed refinement and extra moves.

It didn’t work for Dwight because his level was much lower And needed real work. What he is doing with the Rockets bigs will be more beneficial because he is with them weekly.

TYRONE GA!
Gil doing this for shock factor points but he needs the shít slapped out of him for districting a legend.

And maybe if he dropped a bag with Hakeem he wouldn’t have retired as a member of the Shanghai Sharks when he was still 31 and serviceable. Bozo ran himself out of the league and is a stunted growth poster boy.

he lucky that Hakeem ain't Akeem no mo.

I think one misconception is thinkin Hakeem's bag is just the dexterous shimmy and dream shake. In truth, the post-moves Jordan popularized during his 2nd 3peat, Hakeem was already doing. The turn around fade away, the half-turn (shoulder-fake) bring it back into the fade away, etc. In addition, the ballerina pivots that Jokic does (and that Yao was doing 20 years ago).

IOW, Jordan, Kobe, Jokic, Embiid etc all added their own flavor to it, but the core of what they were doing in the post is what Hakeem was already doing. Not saying he invented it but he had those fundamentals. The shimmy/shake was just his own flavor to it. So does Giannis need to learn that from Dream? Not necessarily, bc it'll be the same stuff Jokic and Embiid already know how to do and learned thru other means. But going to Dream wouldn't hurt.

Amare went to Hakeem and noticeably improved his post-game (2013 season iirc) but he was already damaged goods and couldn't play more than 20mpg that season. Dwight improved his post-game but it still wasn't shyt you'd want him as a primary option for and he was already compromised with that bad back at the tail end of his Houston run.

This has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.

funny how the word "disrespectful" is only used when somebody say something about a retired players while NBA fans enjoy shytTING on active all-time greats and calling them all kind of names every single day

You are using generational players as the norm when they are outliers and ignoring the fact that damn near half the decent players in the league trained with Hakeem and saw no tangible benefits to their game.

Robin Lopez, Ayton, Drummond, JaVale, Rudy Gay, Blake Griffin, etc

They literally all did it because it was the cool thing to do. Maybe Kobe and Bron benefited but that’s because they are GOAT level players. It stands to reason that they would have improved their post game on their own if they really focused on it. A week with Hakeem isn’t going to do jack shyt for 98% of the league

When did Blake and Robin train with Hakeem and when did their post games improve?

I have a strong feeling you are just posting shyt for the sake of posting without actually knowing anything

Your logic is flawed. Thats like saying the education system is a scam because nikkas with no diploma, high scohol or college make more than some people with degrees. Or because someone went to school and got a masters just to work @ Starbucks.
