Yeah, I saw that occur on Discovery years ago. I thought it was that the bees have a heat tolerance of like 2 degrees higher than the hornet, and they generate heat at that exact temperature which kills the hornet and not a degree higher.

Over here they aren't that big luckily, and they're really not much aggressive either if you leave them alone while they destroy all your fruit, normal wasps try to steal your BBQ instead and get cranky if you chase them away. If these Jap hybrid hornets ever come to Europe they'll just devastate the honeybee population that is already struggling with the mysterious mortality.

I wonder how they deal with African honeybees? The end of the world might come at the stingers of battling insects . Also the more I think about it, I'm happy for the Japanese to have the biggest of something
