They dont have to.Game 2 is a must win for toronto. They wont win a single game in the bay
It'll be interesting because ever since Durant went down, GSW haven't really won by out-talenting teams, they've done it with their basketball IQ and tenacity for the 50/50 plays. That's how they beat Houston the last 5 quarters of the WCSF. Houston lacked the tenacity and got killed on the glass, esp when Curry was in foul trouble.
And Portland, which was just a dumb defensive team, still was up 10-15 points in 3 of the 4 games before their poor defense and poorer bball IQ got exposed in GSW's late rally comebacks.
Toronto plays perimeter defense like Houston but with better defensive players, and they're a much smarter team than Portland. The two things are (1) will GSW impose their will on the 50/50 plays/offensive boards because Toronto's first line of defense will lead to contested perimeter shots ala Houston.. but that also means potential mismatches if they commit to the switch on the screens.
And then (2) Toronto's offense starts off pretty slow, or whenever Danny Green is on the floor, because he's unplayable. GSW gonna run them off the court if the Raps go through that cold spell/shooting like shyt and Warriors get the rebound on a semi fast break without worrying about a set Raptors defense. i.e. basically how the Bucks had success.
I think the series will be along the lines of the GSW/Rockets series, and it'll be if the Raptors have an answer for the Warriors BBall IQ and tenacity.
Clippers went there and got a WGame 2 is a must win for toronto. They wont win a single game in the bay
if they win game two they can easily win game 4Game 2 is a must win for toronto. They wont win a single game in the bay
Game 2 is a must win for toronto. They wont win a single game in the bay
well saidTold yall this on Saturday
The only reason the game was close in the first half was because GSW still won those 50/50 plays on the offensive boards, like they did with Houston.
But, again, Toronto is a taller/bigger defensive team than Houston with a similar defensive approach, so judging the Warriors off the Blazers series was always odd to see. And obviously Raps are a much smarter offensive team than both Houston and Portland.
i didn't expect Danny Green to show up tho, i figured the added O would come from Powell like in the Bucks series. If Green shoots halfway decent, that eliminates the Raps slow starts, esp with how GSW doubles Kawhi on every move.
