I understand what you both are saying, I just don't respect it because it's bullshyt. Jay Z isn't your daddy or the daddy of the black community. My point wasn't that because he employs and gets money with other blacks, that proves that he cares about black people. I don't care what Jay Z cares about. My point is that you don't care about black people yourself, so get off your high horse and stop hating on the next black man. Until you understand and come to grips with the fact that you are just guilty of the shyt that you're hating onthe next man for, you'll continue to be crab in a barrel. Money is power, and the fact that he's building money/wealth with other black people means that he's doing more for black people in this country than you and the rest of these lames who are hating, by default. Prove me wrong. What are you doing for black people besides sitting on the Internet hating on Jay Z?
So what was he supposed to say? Barney's condemned the profiling and claimed that it wasn't a company policy. Im quite sure the company that you work for has had allegations made against it, but you arent going to quit over it. Haters love judging people by standards thatrhey donr even hold themselves to.
Our obsession with materialism didn't start with Jay Z and it's not going to end with Jay Z. You can't blame Jay Z for the black community's materialistic mentality. No wonder problems in our community don't get solved, we're constantly looking for scapegoats and simple solutions. "well if Jay would just call Barney's out and scrap his deal with them, they'll stop being racist........if mike would just speak out against cata getting killed over his shoes, nikkas would stop the killin" We have to be smarter than this man. If some young black kid is out here spending his/her money on some $300 belt or whatever then he/she is a victim of shytty parenting. If you're mad because too many black kids are victims of shytty parenting, then let's talk about why that is. Blaming Jay Z' Jordan, or any other black celebrity isn't the answer. That's "dumb nikka" shyt.
You've got a chance to stand up and rep our people and you've failed. Stop worrying about Jay Z and start calling the person you see in the mirror out. What are you doing for black people?
What sacrifices are you making for the betterment of our community. It's easy to point the finger at somebody else.
I'm glad you asked. Every month I go up to the city in Baltimore and donate food and clothing (clothing I collect from people who are well off) to a non-profit organization as well mentor young black teens, mostly black males every other Sunday at my church.
This aint about hate. There ain't hate in my blood. I love to see my people gettin it but at what cost. The problem I have is people forgetting where they came from and not giving back. And I aint just talking about money...I'm talking about time. The time and explaining to these kids out here that you can be successful without being an entertainer. The time to explain to the kids that you can be an owner rather than a consumer.
If you got the means, popularity, fame or whatever you should be held accountable to help the next man other than giving them a monetary handout. And this aint about just Jay. I'm speaking about every black person who can help their brother or sister.
