Finally finished this Monday night. What a way to close the gen.
Storytelling was on point, particulary when I consider how I went from making a concentrated effort to be "honourable" throughout the first 70% of the game, to going full blown ninja assassin in the last 30%. Had me feeling like Mekhi Phfier in Paid in Full.
The story beats just connected and they essentially led me down the same path mentally as Jin. That's solid writing in my book. The gameplay was rewarding, especially on Lethal. If you're not button mashing, almost every fight is borderline cinematic. I really look forward to a potential sequel. They've barely scratched the surface of the open world, and I feel like there's a bit more they could do to liven it & the NPCs up. They had just the right amount of collectibles, but the world was missing a bit more interactivity and maybe a minigame or two. Stellar effort regardless and the series has room to grow if they so choose.
Solid 8.9/10 for me and this may be my favourite game this year thus far.
