I spared the uncle. I don’t think Jin would ever kill him.

but from a different perspective, I feel like the act (of killing the uncle) would be more about the uncle and what it means to the uncle than about Jin himself. Shimura lived loyal to the samurai code through and through, to the point Jin called him a slave to honor, so killing him there would ironically be a way of showing him respect and love by granting him a honorable samurai death.

It could go both ways

everything about the culture says you have to end unc's life. it might be the last honorable thing jin does, unc was fukked no matter what due the shogun's disfavor with him, the fact that unc got 5 clans wiped out, the fact that new clans were sent to clean up his mess, the fact that unc's inability to lead was proven, the fact that ishikawa called out his unc's weak version of honor being a matter of convenience and safety allotted due to unc's position, the fact that unc told jin to let yuna take the blame for jin's actions, etc

he lost his castle and the island, didn't get either back from his own ability. he went out to meet jin alone too - and this is the big one. it makes sense for shimura to tell jin to write a death poem after the sakai clan was officially disbanded and lost all status. jin is in effect *dead*. jin basically did die on the beach, he became a new man, new leader, and he's been writing a new story of life ever since. jin writes that death poem to close a chapter and continue forward. shimura had no other life. he was a failure, and his failure ends only one way for a man in his position.

i don't even know why they gave people an option. you have to kill shimura because its the only thing that makes sense. if they were going to include any sort of 'choice' it should've been whether or not to swing the sword early or late as he commits seppuku

nah...I couldn’t let him live...I didn’t hate him enough to “disrespect” him like that

matter of fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he killed himself if you let him live

can’t imagine him going back to the shogun with his tailed tucked between his legs

I will say I was pretty OP by the 3rd act.

Would do all this stealth shyt on these mongol bases only to be like :martin: “fukk it” and kill everyone....

Everyone who didn’t run that is :demonic:

I love shooting these nikkas in the back while they taking off

Haven’t been playing these days because of the NBA but midway through Act 3

In terms of pure enjoyment, this is one of the best games of this gen :whew:
