Obviously, but do you think West Africa in general is becoming more progressive? And if so, do you think its due to a natural progession within the respective West African cultures or because of western influence which could be ironic since there are claims that most of the rigid social norms were due to the influence of western christianity.

It's more like both.

Western influence has always been felt in West Africa, especially in ghana. There's a large presence of homosexuality there but people tend to mind their own business and keep it to themselves.

The progression is not so much of the Western culture but really coming from the generational shift in West Africa that's happening the past 20 years. Younger Africans are becoming more secular and economic minded compared to their parents whose mindsets are still heavily influenced by religion.

Almost everyone has done gender exploration from an artistic stand point. Japan has had Bishouen for decades now. Literally its not new. This isn't some widespread conspiracy to emasculate Black/African men.

Its literally ALWAYS been a thing. Like how male painters used to model their women subjects sometimes off of their male relatives. Its really nothing new.
