I once took a road trip from Accra to Lome in Togo. Ghana is generally a nice and peaceful country, albeit with high poverty levels. If you've got money you'll live well.

How’s Togo? I have two friends who are Togolese and got homes there, they said it’s nice and a lot of people there speak French in addition to their indigenous languages.

Wow thank you.

What was the process like in buying land, equipment, paperwork etc?

Breh thats why i had to include if you know the right people. Poverty is a big problem and people will steal from you, people you hire and working with will bleed it dry and thats even if you bring them in. Its hard to tell someone to think about how your gonna be eating a couple down the line when they are starving now and been starving for a long time. Without a trusted person making frequent thier presence if your not there It is doomed to failure. And thats across the whole continent, i know someone i worked with for a year from Ethiopia and i have talked to him a little bit about what i wanna do and he told me the same things about Ethiopia.

In terms of the process of getting land its similar stuff but this is based on Uganda cause thats the only place i have actually gone thru the process. You need a lawyer cause again people will shaft you. For example the first time i tried to buy land in Uganda found a place where a guy was selling 16 acres. Negotiated price and we had a deal. But then we had the lawyer go to the land registry to get all info on the land like who owns it, all transactions and basically the entire history of the land.

We had a copy of the land title but you always check. The land title is basically the document showing who owns the land. Never buy land from someone if they dont have and cant give you the land title or if all they have is a copy of it and not the original, cause people will forge it. Anyway the lawyer discovered that he only actually owned half the 16 acres, the rest belonged to a relative i think a brother of his. That relative was nowhere to be found, this is what they do. You buy it and down the line brother pops up, land is in his name before and he never sold you the land and you have lost the land. Some people will also sell land that was their parents who for example passed away but the land is still in parents name. You buy that and random siblings will pop up claiming the brother who sold it to you didnt have authority to sell. Happened to my mum and they extorted her into paying twice for the land before it was signed over legit.

In the end we went back to the guy and he conceded and said he would sell us the 8 acres then that he owned but we had a deal of £6000 for 16 acres and he wanted to sell me 8 acres for £5000 so we walked away from dealing with this guy. It was a good lesson for first attempt.

Paperwork will all be handled by the lawyer you hire.

Just normal creature comforts we got here. Things closing mad early. Transportation not being the best. I know they had just started Uber when I went there and it took the driver like 30 min to get to me even tho the map said he was 2 min away. She got homesick and just missed being able to do regular black folks shyt
:ld: i think i could handle that, i guess i look more into it, i rather live with that then amerikkk

It's also possible that they gained independence just over 63 years ago, and they're finally able to pursue the vision their first President had in mind.
And they announce this in the middle of this Floyd protest. Yeah sure this is totally just a coincidence. Lol

They know what they doing.

Pardon my unintentional ignorance but does Ghana have consistent electricity and things like Amazon Prime? Also if a breh has excellent credit and never planned on returning to the US, can you technically take out a $100,000 loan here in the states and never pay it back if you put the money in a Ghana bank account?:jbhmm:
Funny thing is cacs do this all the time to go to Europe. There are whole reddit pages and websites devoted to maxing out your credit stateside, getting unGodly amoints of student loans, and then just dipping to the EU or Brittain.
Its risky though, because you'd be burning your USbridges

Everyone won't do it, but I respect it. I think most would take America's 'cism if it comes with a (shot at a) first world life. I'm nearing the point where I'm down to go somewhere else and do my part to make a black country first world.

I applaud this, but I still stand by my previous statement of being hard pressed to go somewhere else on the planet and not deal with anti-black bigots. Won't gainsay any black person that takes advantage of this, though. If you do it and you post here, let us know how it goes after a year. Might bend the needle in another direction for me. Best of luck and safe trips. :salute:

Most AAs don't want anything to do with Africa though

not sure if that’s exactly true. I think many AAs including my grown ass keeping it real never left the contiguous states, so this is not how I feel but if it had to be put in words I’d say. Thus far I wasn’t trying to go anyplace that worse I couldn’t just drive back.

My Father in Heaven
Amount of coli dudes going to Ghana: 0
Amount of people who claim they never wanted to leave their homeland and hate America going: 0
Amount of people actually going: I say not much

People only like to talk the talk but theyd never give up everything the white man gives them that makes their lives so comfortable

About ‘Beyond The Return’
Beyond the Return” is a follow-up to the successful “Year Of Return” #YearOfReturn, Ghana 2019’ campaign which commemorated the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of the first recorded enslaved Africans in Jamestown Virginia in 1619. Tourism, Hospitality management is another field our youngers need to be getting into, with study abroad programs attached to them. We need to get involved in that industry too. Both here and over there.

As an advocate for Black folks engaging in study abroad, I agree infinity percent.
