Edit: I just realized that I posted that in November. This trip was a struggle to pull off! Lots of people hating, but honestly God made this trip happen for sure. Great things are coming from it, like continuing partnerships. We got back June 19.
We had an amazing time
We stayed in Portugal for a day on the way down.
We stayed in Accra for 5 days. Well really we were outside of Accra in an airbnb. A 9 bedroom 9 bathroom joint. Traffic was a beast though.
Everything was love, everybody was showing us love. They really welcomed us home. There's a huge sense of community in Ghana.
We went to the Dr. Nkrumah Memorial, Black Star Square, Accra Arts Centre, Makola Market, Kakum (Canopy Walk), Elmina Castle, University of Ghana, visited an elementary/middle school, a couple of malls. We collected medical supplies and school supplies and dropped those off.
I really loved the exposure my kids got. We was in the streets of NYC, Portugal, and Ghana with some kids that have never been on a plane and some that have never left the state.
We rode about every mode of transportation lol. Greyhound, Amtrak, Metro in Lisbon, planes
I can post pictures and some video in the next few days, I'm working on the official video for the trip
