McVay was completely exposed last year by the Lions, and that gameplan has been used by other teams since then - most prominently by the Pats in the SB. McVay is smart but the problem is that his QB is trash and any adjustments go out the window when your QB can't execute. Giving him that deal doomed the Rams, just watch. It's over.
Lions? That was the Bears that exposed them

McVay is starting to look very Chip Kelly-ish. Stop me if you've heard this before:

•offensive wunderkind takes Thr League by storm in his rookie season, winning his division and setting records...
•comes back and has repeat success in Year 2 on the job (only difference Kelly barely missed playoffs with 10 wins, McVay got to Super Bowl)...
•Year 2 for both coaches started showing hints of The League catching up to them. Year 3 became major exposure seasons with a ton of their offensive concepts blowing up in their faces and a shared inability to make adjustments in high leverage situations...

Kelly got canned after Year 3, we know Boy Wonder ain't going nowhere, but if he can't put a better product out there next year, it might be over....

You gotta swallow the bullet and cut bait with Gurley next year. That old ass weak ass O-Line needs a complete makeover. Goof, I mean Goff, is basically the latest incarnation from the Kirk Cousins/Stat Padford tree. He can look really great when everything around him is clicking...

Take away any other dominant position, whether it's the backfield, the line, or the wideouts, and he starts regressing. This is embarrassing...

Rams aren't moving off of him after that deal but he'd be on a prove it year next year too, if he can't turn the results around this year. He's in Year 4. The reads and decision making and moxie should be accelerating this year, not decreasing...

As disappointing as the Browns are, I dont know that there's been a more disappointing team in the NFL this year. The fukking Rams made the Super Bowl last year with The Next Big Thing at coach. They are 1.5 games out of the Wild Card and tied with Philly and Carolina, and if they played either right now I wouldn't have my money on the Rams...

This is embarrassing...

One didn't make the playoffs his next yr and the other got better and went to the super bowl which kills your whole analogy based on success..

Lets start putting stuff in context when we have sports discussions in this board

:whoa:

Chip Kelly was an arrogant prick, his way or the highway type of person. Blew up the eagles by shipping off talented players or letting them walk because he knew best. McVay dont got GM duties and doesn't seem arrogant either.

Chip Kelly came in with that bizarre fast pace college shyt and never adjusted to the adjustment made to him. McVay runs a conventional offense compared to Kelly

Most important difference and I think u mentioned this. McVay has made the playoffs every year.

And oh yea, Fukk Chip Kelly :pacspit:

That's one thing I learned this week (I guess this's really for the other thread): the Super Bowl loser's hangover is definitely real. They look like a completely different team from last year and I'm not sure you can chalk it up just to them having no running game now. Has the league already figured McVay out?

And since when is replacing Goff with Blake Bortles a part of any "plan"? :aicmon:

All I know is I'm hoping they'll have this same lethargy when the Ravens go out there a couple weeks from now. Of course, with our luck, they'll probably suddenly become the Greatest Show on Turf 2.0 for that game, and that game only. :martin: At least they knocked off the Browns earlier...

Mcvay hasn’t made no adjustments to that offense

1. Run left and right

2. Run draw play

3. Goff only pass play is play action to the outside or receiver crossing the middle

I have always say give these coordinators a bunch of game films and they will adjust and if u not a coach like beli and Sean Payton teams defenses will catch your bullshyt

It doesn't kill my analogy because the premise is "offensive genius who is gonna change the game" gets figured out in Year 3...

I never said they run the same offense and I pointed out Kelly missed the playoffs in Year 2...

100...

The deer in headlights look McVay has had half this year is the same look Kelly had though. It's the look of not being able to diversify your offense when you thought your offense could run the NFL...

Yeah it's not just the running game, the line has regressed, Woods is not the factor he once was, and Goff has certainly regressed...

You're right though, they'll probably look like monsters when Baltimore comes lol...

that’s why the offense got so much praise because they didn’t have many plays but everything was executed to perfection
