Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Gentrification is classism more so than racism like black people like to preach. It’s only considered racism cause us blacks are at the bottom with Hispanics and because of white flight our neighborhoods in many cities are located in what is prime real estate today.

Honestly before we blacks protest about things we need to make an effort to understand this things clearly.

Even on the coli I’ve witnessed posters bragging about having high incomes and paying rent prices that could go to someone who makes half their salary.

They fail to realize they contribute to gentrification as well. If you become a successful black man and move to Harlem, North Philly, Overtown in Miami etc the developers don’t see a black man moving they see another human being with a six figure salary moving in which only helps the developer.

Asians are too successful to be gentrified to be honest. The average Indian family for example makes 80K I think. Gentrification wouldn’t hurt them at all. As a matter of fact Indians can gentrify themselves.
I specifically remember going to an event on gentrification and they played a clip of some doc where the Chinese in NYC have been organizing cuz they're at risk

Very true. Kenyatta Johnson is a councilman in south philly, he was giving vacant lots to his black friends and they were turning around selling them to white developers.
bigbizzneesss (ig name) is a developer in philly who ppl look up to but at the end of the day all he doing is gentrifying the hood for cacs and getting rich off it
The person who mainly gentrified New Orleans after Katrina is a black woman

There are poor Asian neighborhoods littered all over the US.
"Chinatowns" are usually incredibly vulnerable to gentrification, because they're largely poor Asians who are holding on largely by community solidarity.
The same is true of Orthodox Jews: they are generally one greedy developer away from being forced to scatter as a community.

This is also true. Lots of factors in play.

That’s ironic because if you speak to any Italians they will tell you it’s the Chinese taking over their neighborhoods in South Brooklyn paying all cash for houses.

I live in South Brooklyn and Chinese are deep.

Gentrifying majority white/Asian areas would be ideal. Good luck with that, though.

You not gentrifying whites, maybe white trash, that's about it. And Asians? Forget about it. The problem with gentrification is that it pushes the poor away from cities. Cities with jobs and things to do. Look at how much things cost in the good parts of the U.S. like LA, Miami, ATL, or near the ocean etc.

What blacks need to do is accept being thrown in shytty parts of the U.S. and make do with what's there. Transform it into a metropolis. Instead of congregating with whites, move to OKC or Indiana, land is dirt cheap in those parts. Build it up. The problem comes in is with the lack of jobs even if you happened to be educated. All the popular cities got the jobs

Puerto Rican’s displaced from NY are currently trying to do that in Reading, PA and Lancaster, PA.

We've seen this story so many times. This is why I always say worry about your life and success first don't expect other people to help. This is really beyond race because it happens in all groups, but here's a simple example:

Person A tells People B and C to go do something.
People B and C don't do shyt, except tells People D,E,F to do something.
People D,E,F don't do shyt, except tell People G,H,I to do something

Person G actually does something.
When Person G is rich and successful: "People A, B, C, D, E, F, H and I didn't do shyt for me, I made it on my own. fukk em."
If they're lucky People A, B, C, D, E, F, H and I may get some breadcrumbs if anything.
On some: "That's more than I was ever given, and I made it."

That's the sad reality.

Sure there are exceptions, but if you want that success, don't be the one telling everyone else to do something. Instead you gotta be the one that does something, it's your life and your responsibility after all.

tl;dr: There are a lot of people that look like you, but they ain't you and could care less. Don't rely on them, rely on yourself.
