But what you're saying actually lacks substance. What I am saying is that normalizing retaliatory deportations for political dissent is DANGEROUS. This isn't a "trick," it's a basic recognition of how authoritarianism takes hold through small escalations that people excuse until it's too late.

You admit it's wrong, but your solution is… what? Punishing him because you're mad at certain voters? You're letting your thirst for spite-based revenge blind you to what's actually happening.

If you're fine with abuses of power as long as they happen to people you don't like, then what use are you? What use is a Democratic party that shares that view?

Essentially, I want better victims to be the face of our push back. Like id rather it be someone who pissed Trump off and not also had the tag of being an alleged (on IMO weak to nonexistent evidence) Hamas supporter. It’s obvious this guy is harmless, but he was the face of a destructive politically inconvenient movement and I want there to be a political response…namely, formal indifference. We will have plenty to fight over in the coming months. This guy will have to be a milestone in the memories of what our responsibilities were in November and I want it to be a vicious lesson.

If you were a fair weather ally, for the time being, I want minimal support for you. Again, his rights need to be protected and I hope the Supreme Court intervenes but democrats don’t need to start printing banners and making flyers over this guy.

I meant it when I said I want to see some shared sacrifice. This is exactly what I was talking about.

…and it will have to get a lot worse. Some of yall haven’t got it yet. There must be true pain and suffering. A lot of yall still operate under the aegis of the expectation that DEMOCRATS will save you and i want things to get so bad that you have no choice but to beg for mercy.
