I know that I said I won’t be involved in all this and I won’t but I think it’s time we come to terms with the fact that Americans have largely been stupid throughout history and self interested to their own detriment. Politics is literally trying to sway stupid people to do what you want for ethical reasons. Every debate in here is about how best to teach stupid people. Once you all accept that you’ll realize that you agree on that basic premise and every debate is about the most effective way to get stupid people to do the right thing or what is best for everyone.

Democrats are not currently effective at speaking to stupid people. So whenever you get frustrated about policy, remember that people are stupid and you didn’t dumb down the explanation enough.
