its not about it being safe to eat - its about having something TO eatAin’t shyt gonna be safe to eat soon
a virus running rampant means that stock dies and the less of the stock there is the more its going to cost you to buy to eat it.
law of simple supply and demand
but the real issue is this - if the virus is jumping from bird species to bird species so quickly and now its moved to cows then its just a small step to move to humans- cows are more like us than birds are- even though we are all mammals birds are a different species ...cows and pigs are more like us - mammals that give birth from in utero.
thats what viruses do - they evolve to move into new populations that have no antibodies to fight it - and humans who farm are around various farm animals and this results in exposure and infection that can now migrate into the human population....
