President Trump signed an executive order directing the Education Department and other agencies to advise states on how to expand school choice programs. That guidance could potentially direct more federal funds otherwise sent to public schools to families, who can then choose to educate their children at home, or in religious or private schools.

🤮
I really hate this for so many families. Being in a gentrified area, my son's school is title 1 and you can already see the gaps between families with more income vs lesser income.

These voucher programs likely won't be enough to get those kids in good schools, while further eroding public education.

Disgusting.

This will also affect prek programs that really jump start your child past kindergarten and into late first grade from a readiness perspective.

A leaked memo from the Defense Intelligence Agency shows personnel were instructed to suspend observances of certain holidays that do not specifically honor white men, including Holocaust Remembrance Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month, according to a document obtained by journalist Ken Klippenstein.

The memo lists at least one holiday or special commemoration for nearly every month: Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday in January, Black History Month in February, Women's History Month in March, Holocaust Day/Days of Remembrance and Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, Pride and Juneteenth in June, Women's Equality Day in August, National Hispanic Heritage Month in September and October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October, and National American Indian Heritage Month in November.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued an executive order declaring he would divert federal funding from schools that teach "discriminatory equity ideology," a vague phrase that loosely refers to systemic racism.

The executive order says the prohibited ideology treats "individuals as members of preferred or disfavored groups, rather than as individuals," and minimizes "agency, merit, and capability in favor of immoral generalizations."
The edict says it will sanction schools that assert some people are oppressed because of their race, or that the U.S. is "fundamentally racist, sexist, or otherwise discriminatory."

Somebody needs to straight up tell this dikkhead you can’t have it both ways. You want states to control their own shyt then put out something saying the federal government controls shyt. Damn this admin moves so fukking sloppy.
It's the Republican way, the party of small government for stuff they want the "freedom" to do but they want to tell people what they can't do.
