I think they know that. I atleast assume they do. It isn’t worth going back and forth about that for two years tho so Godspeed to y’all who will
I remember how chaotic his first days of his first term were. This is definitely on overdrive with the deportations and threats. He's a blitzkrieg of lies and craziness. Just have to weather the initial onslaught and let things settle down a bit. But I do have a bad feeling this time around that trump will do something more destructive then any of us have thought of. But I hope I'm wrong.

Dems have to sit back and wait. We all do. 2020s will go down as the worst decade in almost 100 years but we get through it. Hopefully. Going back and forth on the coli has gotten me through half of it.

You think National Guard protecting the ability for abortion providers to continue doing their work would be "chaos with no real effect on policy"? Did you not hear the stories of women dying from lack of care due to Roe being overturned?
You want armed guards to go out and fight against policy voted on by the supreme court……:francis:

Chaos, and the RvW vote would still be the same.
Look...Elon in jail might be performative, but I need that personally. But in all seriousness, you keep saying performative like it's a bad word. Politics is performative. That's how people build a mental perception of you, and consequently give you their support. Joe Biden sundowning during the debate for a performative disaster, which had fatal consequences for his campaign.
Politics shouldn’t be performative. You want the government running around doing clown shyt to make you feel good.
I would like the Dems to both behave strong and be strong. The former helps them with the ability to do the latter. The problem is that Democrats think we're living in a nerd fantasy where teacher is eventually going to come in and punish the bad kids and pat them on the head for "doing the right thing" and not cheating, which is why they love misappropriating Dr. King's quote about the arc of the moral universe being long but bending towards justice. The American people are not about that shyt. Democrats fetishize inaction while this country is built on fetishizing chauvinistic modes of action and power. Democrats need to understand that and harness it for the good.

The problem with Trump isn't that he's pushing the boundaries of the system - Lincoln and FDR both did the same - it's that he's pushing it in the wrong direction. Liberals are more interested in maintaining the structure of the system than actually helping people.
If trumps legacy turns EVERYONE radical then he won.

Ima reject that from where i stand :manny:

Trump Attacks 'Major Sleazebag' Jim Acosta Over CNN Exit: 'Really Good News!'

Wow, really good news! Jim Acosta, one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history, a major sleazebag, has been relegated by CNN Fake News to the Midnight hour, “Death Valley,” because of extraordinarily BAD RATINGS (and no talent!). Word is that he wants to QUIT, and that would be even better. Jim is a major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up. Good luck Jim!

Late last night, Donald Trump's White House budget office ordered a pause in grants, loans, and other federal financial assistance. Experts say that the memo as written could mean a rapid halt to scores of federal functions already approved by Congress— from assistance to homeless shelters to financial aid for college students. Health grants distributed by the CDC, and state aid for disaster reconstruction, might also face delays.

This is arguably Trump's most brazen move yet since returning to office. The move also closely mimics plans laid out in the deeply unpopular Project 2025, which Trump tried desperately to distance himself from during his campaign. The mastermind behind the strategy is a key Project 2025 author and Trump's nominee to lead the Office of Management and Budget, Russell Vought. (He has yet to be confirmed — and if the Senate cares about congressional authority and checks and balances, it will vote him down.) Vought wants to resurrect the practice of withholding congressionally appropriated funds known as impoundment, which violates federal law and Supreme Court precedent. Legal challenges have already been filed by a coalition of states, and I'll try to keep you updated as they snake their way through the courts.

The bigger picture? This may seem like Trump just sowing more chaos and dysfunction as we've grown accustomed to, but it's deeper than that. It's all part of Trump’s plan to consolidate power — substituting loyalists for experts across the government, using retribution to intimidate others, purging the government’s independent inspectors general, giving the Defense Department more authority over civilian life (and putting a raving loyalist in charge), giving Elon Musk authority to cut spending and roll back regulations, and readying a massive tax cut for the wealthy and big corporations. Trump is leading a move to replace democracy with a government dominated by authoritarian oligarchs.
What are your thoughts?

Breaking news: Caroline Kennedy on Tuesday warned senators about Robert F. Kennedy Jr., calling her cousin — now Trump’s pick to lead HHS — a “predator” whose victims have ranged from family members to the parents of sick children.

@88m3 looks like the usual suspects strolled in doing their “what about ism” thing :mjlol: they got no shame to their game you have to respect it

I’m assuming most people recognize that. I thought it was pretty obvious everyone recognized it’s easier to destroy something than to build something. But apparently not.

One of them really came in to say "now is not the time to protest"

I'm guessing they're holding out hope they get issued brown shirts with this kind of fence sitting and soapboxing

I've got @Loose in another thread trying to convince me DEI wasn't worth fighting for because it is a "corporate scam" because Ryan Grimm and a light skinned brother who teaches at Bates College says so.

I'm not sure when/why they thought we speed ran the Civil Rights era and attaining racial equality but even living in NYC I'm not living under that notion

I'll keep trying to explain to them that the future they're making for the themselves and their children isn't the best one

after biden pardoned his brother don't want to hear about political purity
So is it wrong or naw…. :jbhmm:

On one hand you say you want the dems to start doing whatever the hell they want.

On the other hand you wanna cry about Biden protecting his family.

I thought you wanted some trumpism in the democratic party?? :jbhmm:

We already had Trumpism with the democratic party, biden pardoned his family and looked out for his own well being just LIKE trump. Unlike trump though, biden used some political purity excuse when it came to getting things done for his OWN constitutes ( student loans for example).
