It is an insane approach, but it’s not an insane action. It’s precisely how they want to operate. It’s not supposed to make sense. Being able to make it “us against them, and if you disagree..... you’re them” in regards to Trump, keeps the money and energy where the party is politically viable. They want to be able to shapeshift into any argument, situation or policy that Dear Leader supports.
Cindy McCain didn’t get rid of Jeff Flake or Martha McSally. She didn’t force anyone to vote for Biden/Against Trump or stay home. But they want to be seen as loyal to Trump with the hopes of maintaining most, if not all of the reasonable party members. Cindy McCain called it out and they lost. Rather than say “How do we get these votes back?”, they go with “We need to take a stand on behalf of this one-term lunatic who has destroyed our party in 5 years while making an outcast of a lifelong member whose dead husband, despite his penchant for crashing expensive aircraft, served our party in the Senate for decades.”
Years of lack of accountability, anti-intellectualism, and brainwashing has a legit 30+% of the population has made this completely possible. If you give it to your supporters to drink, you gonna have to drink it too.
Remember how at the beginning of all this, people saying “What the fukk is he saying? Are you serious?” had to deal with the accusations of being intellectually dishonest? Do you remember how intellectually dishonest their conspiracy theories or what I like to call their “Obamaporn”, their policy aims to obtain power and championing of ideals that go against their very nature were?
These are the same people who call The Government of the United States opposition. You know with the greatest military known in the history of the world*? With layers of agencies that don’t care if they pop your dome off? They want civil war against the US Military?
The same people who want Democrats to not do anything about all of this because they would have to be on record either for the crazies they look down on or against the crazies that control their political futures. Because it proves the intellectual dishonesty?
It just further proves we gotta start starving these states and districts that send lawmakers who support the crazies. You believe crazy ideas, defend crazy actions, and support crazy ideals? You gotta get the votes to get more money than you put in. The government will stay out of your life, for sure. Oh what’s that? You need ________? Vote for someone who will get it for you.
Cindy McCain saved them the trouble. I hope she doesn’t backtrack and support some faux-moderate who will just start this hardline Trumpist bullshyt as soon as he/she wins, but that’s gonna be the set-up for her if she peeks out into politics in Arizona again.
* - I don’t think having your only wins in the last 75 years being The 1st Iraqi War, Grenada, and maybe Al Quida really speaks to that, but more to the lack of war from old colonial powers and the amount of spending on defense we do.

House Democrats will introduce their article of impeachment today, which charges Trump with incitement of an insurrection. Democrats are closing in on a majority of the House co-sponsoring the resolution. Vote is expected Wednesday or Thursday.
