congrats on getting back to lifting man.

i started lifting two months ago doing the Stronglifts program. my numbers are about the same as yours on the squat/overhead press and BB row. my advice for the flexibility is to do a lot of stretching and maybe try yoga. like MMSex said, it's kinda weird that you can squat but have problems for the deadlift. maybe it's the fear of hurting your back that's making you nervous.

when im deadlifting i take alot of time finding my stance

even if im lifting alone ill ask someone to check my form

stretch my quads/ham and squat stretch and do warmups with 165 for 8-10 reps

it might be a process but its worth it

if your hamstrings are really tight then you probably also have a butt wink(posterior pelvic tilt) when you squat, which would also hurt your lower back.

Sounds like you should be stretching multiple times a day.

my lower back is still incredibly tight. ive been doing some stretching exercises throughout the day which have been helping. just moving around during the day helps period...my main fault was lifting as soon as i woke up a couple days ago. i need to buy a belt regardless and start using it when i squat and such.


also, i took pics on sunday i'll post them with my weekly stats from last week when this thread gets to that point.

I always go through a rigorous process before I deadlift and squat. You can NEVER be too thorough.

At this point in our journey I'm about a month in. I spent this month just trying to get my body back in a gym going routine. My numbers in important lifts saw strong improvement though, and I didnt feel as if I would be plateauing anytime soon...so overall I would consider it a successful month.

I had to do my front squats on the smith machine because a couple of bytch nikkas were taking up the only 2 squat racks and I didnt have all day. Also looks like I only made it to the gym 3 days this week :kanyeshrug:
