I think he’s primarily focused on maximizing engagement. That will in turn help with ads.

The fact that people have to determine whether a blue check is from previous verification or merely from pay and in turn how cumbersome that is shows what the game is.

Based on my professional experience, people are more likely to perform an additional search on said platform if the message came from a “paid poster” than leave altogether
