It's not much but I was able to get a group of 30 young Black men into IT last year by redirecting them various non-profit IT programs(Per Scholas, Year Up, NPower /workforce help. They have me on Linkedin and currently thriving in their roles.

I could have EASILY been a statistic, thus me knowing what I know and that I barely made it out, why would I dismiss those who aren't as exceptional as me? I grew up and saw people sale drugs, get shot, get killed get beat on, not knowing what's for dinner, getting evicted, living in section 8, on food stamps, etc. I experienced it growing up and me and my brothers and sisters that went through it all said that we don't want that for us when we get older. I've still bumped my head and made bad choices along the way but the goal was always making something better for myself and not going back. It's always possible people just have to want it
