Hip hop as a whole is the most diverse it's ever been. The problem is most of the hip hop that's heavily broadcasted in the mainstream isn't the best the genre has to offer

There's alot of great MCs in the game that are pushing the genre forward. MCs that are finding and using fresh innovative flows, rapping about wide ranging content, have actual content in their music, rapping over great instrumentals, rapping over live instrumentation and making quality bodies of work. They just don't get the attention that the DaBabys and NBA Youngboys get nowadays. You have to look for them

If you're an old head and you feel like hip hop these days is irredeemable, check out these artists

Mick Jenkins
Tobe Nwigwe
Saba
Nick Grant
JID
Isaiah Rashad
Westside Boogie
Earthgang
Cordae
Rapsody
Che Noir
Oddisee
IDK
Joey Bada$$
CHIKA
Deante Hitchcock
Denzel Curry
KOTA the Friend
Smino
Duke Duece
Anoyd
Boldy James
Kenny Mason
Tierra Whack

These are only a few of the younger generation rappers that are pushing the culture forward in their own way and there's so many more. You just have to look. There's something out there for everyone

There’s actually more variety, willing to fight over that

U old nikkas being disingenuous if u not acknowledging rappers nowadays are far more versatile

that’s in credit to rappers like Kanye who pioneered and adapted with changing times and influenced a whole generation

I hope u guys understand by saying Gen Z rap is trash u are giving your Generation responsibility for not influencing the youth :unimpressed:

You cats gotta be trolling.

In the 90's you had Wu, BIG, Pac, Outkast, BONE, Tribe, Snoop, Jay, DMX, Master P, etc. all out at the same time....selling records....sounding nothing alike.

Hell, even artists from the same region like Quik and Eiht didn't sound the same.

And for the record I don't think all rappers sound the same now. But anybody claiming there's more versatility now, than back then....either wasn't around back then, or they were around back then and are having a mid life crisis now.

With all due respect OG nostalgia got u misinterpreting what I said

I never said 90s rappers styles weren’t versatile

I simply stated the versatility for individual rappers has evolved, 90s was 30 years ago. Rappers can harmonize with beats and spit 16 bars, they flow on pop beats and drill beats it’s actually a sight to behold

You got Saba, earth gang, earl sweatshirt, Tyler the creator, Childish gambino, Kyle, I can keep going on but to say all artist sound the same is very disingenuous cracker. Just say you don’t look hard enough, or don’t like hip hop
