People say they are better at their flow.
But really they are better at harmonizing IN GENERAL.... but not better than our harmanizers (like Bone Thugs, etc).
They cant RIDE A BEAT.... we think they can but they cant do what pac did or biggie or even jada kiss or fab... or nas. They arent as witty as jay z, etc...
They arent witty at all.
They are better at jokes and clowning but not witty.
And are feminized.
Really I think very few can ride Beats... if you include people like Rick Ross in the 'new gen'.

From lyrics
To originality
To rap beefs
To everything else....
Its madddd sad to see.

If you are punching in after everyline I'm taking off some points for being able to ride a beat:mjlol:.

When they say "progressing" they simply mean the culture, and allowing more homosexuality tendancies in. As well as you can rap about emo white boy shyt, like suicide and being off your meds and be accepted.

Hip hop as a whole is the most diverse it's ever been. The problem is most of the hip hop that's heavily broadcasted in the mainstream isn't the best the genre has to offer

There's alot of great MCs in the game that are pushing the genre forward. MCs that are finding and using fresh innovative flows, rapping about wide ranging content, have actual content in their music, rapping over great instrumentals, rapping over live instrumentation and making quality bodies of work. They just don't get the attention that the DaBabys and NBA Youngboys get nowadays. You have to look for them

If you're an old head and you feel like hip hop these days is irredeemable, check out these artists

Mick Jenkins
Tobe Nwigwe
Saba
Nick Grant
JID
Isaiah Rashad
Westside Boogie
Earthgang
Cordae
Rapsody
Che Noir
Oddisee
IDK
Joey Bada$$
CHIKA
Deante Hitchcock
Denzel Curry
KOTA the Friend
Smino
Duke Duece
Anoyd
Boldy James
Kenny Mason
Tierra Whack

These are only a few of the younger generation rappers that are pushing the culture forward in their own way and there's so many more. You just have to look. There's something out there for everyone

Also to add to that list:

Premo Rice
LATASHA
Princess Nokia
Underachievers
World’s Fair
Remy Banks
Lansky Jones
Coops
Prez P
Ski Mask the Slump God
Fat Sean
Tr3demark
Lightshow
Shoreline Mafia
Mozzy
Payroll Giovanni
Dizzy Wright
Baby Keem
REASON
Joyner Lucas
Freddie Gibbs
Alexander Mack
Kodie Shane
Rapsody

:dead:

I’m pretty sure this thread is focused on the mainstream because if not then it should be deleted

Half the nikkas in 495 been mainstream for a min tho :mjlol:

Hell, half of the Odd Future members too as a matter of fact. Oldie is a well regarded posse classic within the last 10 years and 495 ain’t even an “underground” hit here in the DMV, that shyt stayed getting heavy play out here for obvious reasons lol

I never said all artists sound the same. Re-read my post, then get back to me.

And half your list ain't new rappers, or gen Z.

Tyler will be 30 this year. Earth Gang is in their 30's. Childish Gambino is damn near 40. :mjlol:

Gen Z is mid to late 90's.
How are you cats arguing over this, and don't even know who Gen Z is? :gucci:

Fred.

I’d say Gen Z is more so late 90’s to mid 10’s in my opinion.

the fact you included yonkers of all songs as an example has me mad lost as to what you're looking for

tyler himself came out and said that song was some random verses with no intrinsic meaning he decided to put together; thats exactly what you'd expect from a teenager, and right now gen z isnt shyt more than a bunch of teenagers and early 20s at best

looking for some mature, developed content from an audience that's everything except that is mad asinine; artists like nas have always been the exception, not the rule

the fact you explicitly said you're not looking shows where your head is at with this

This is true regarding Yonkers, however, Joey Bada$$ was only 15 when he dropped songs like these:

You definitely have teenage rappers who were more advanced with their skill than their peers. I’m not saying they’re necessarily the norm and it’s obvious that Joey and his whole crew came into Consciousness and went on a journey to Knowledge of Self at a hella young age but they’re definitely out there.

of course, that's why i brought up joey in my first post

like i said in the next paragraph though, artists of that ilk are by far an abnormality and expecting that consistently from the younger generation is setting yourself up for disappointment
