That oil takes weeks to get over here, but somehow the price of oil they have to buy and ship affects the price of refined products today at the gas stations that's already been paid for and refined for weeks to months.

Yep it’s price gouging. This has been well covered they wouldn’t be making record profits if prices had anything to do with supply.

This is how the industry has always been though. Somebody farts around an oil refinery overseas they use that as any excuse to raise prices.
