In most cities biking is not safe because roads were not designed for them. With public transit it is a hit or his outside of cities like NYC, DC, ATL, and areas in California. When I was a kids I remember a bunch of weekends riding 3 hours to see family. In a car with was less than 40 minutes.

Exactly how can Americans boycott? Cities were designed for cars which in turn made a product that people have to depend on. Most Americans can't protest even if they wanted to. There are countless areas with terrible to no sidewalks to bike.
