I got that. Just because they can still use a subset of the base doesn't mean there wasn't serious damage done to other parts. If they lost 20% of their aircraft as some of these outlets are reporting then i bet they are scrambling to protect the rest of their aircraft. I've seen a couple pics of destroyed jets but either they are hiding the major damage or US is exaggerating

Russia MOD said six jets were destroyed. I dunno. There was heavy bombardment going yesterday and today in the Daraa front, Aleppo front, and Hama front. So it didnt really deliver a devastating blow to the airforce. Or it could have been Russian jets doing the bombing for the Syrians to disguise the damage. In the end, the operation did not change the balance of power on the ground. And it wasn't meant to be anyway. The war is still raging on. Russia is providing the air support and Iran is providing the ground support for Assad.
