True you're right about race being a factor.
Not to derail but has Devito ever been diagnosed as a midget or dwarf? Think homie just extremely short. Plus he never really outgrew comedic relief besides maybe Penguin, which he did body btw.

yeah... I think Devito is just hella short... and I believe you’re right about him being comedic relief in the majority of his roles... but he been in the game damn near 50 years
