The 313
ya'll do understand the concept of inflation though right? even with max salaries and such, lebron, cp3, KD, even Bynum and dwight will probably easily top this list soon as contracts are only going to continue to get bigger

inflation is only 3percent per yr. for $30mill that's only an extra 900,000 dollars per yr. but the consumer price index determines real-world inflation so it may not be reflected in the contracts for a looooong time.

:wtf:

I don't think you understand inflation.

15 million today is worth less (buying power) than it was 10 years ago.

We're also just coming out of one of the biggest recessions the country has ever seen, which often leads to faster increases in the inflation rate, which real world or not, will be impacted every time they readjust the max salary

this completely proves my point, people make more because money doesn't buy what it used to... this happens in every job industry, its why minimum wage goes up, so i think i have a good grasp on inflation

Got it, my bad.

Even so, now that there's a hard cap not sure these guys are going to make as much, dollar amount wise. For example, Lebron would have to average 20 million per season for the next 10 years to catch Garnett.

Just think about the game before the salary cap hit home. Players like Glen Robinson got a 68 million dollar deal (albeit for ten years) coming out of college. A cat like Lebron would have got proly a 100-150 million dollar deal as big as he was coming out of high school. A lot of these guys are overpaid but people like Kobe and KG and Shaq are worth it because they are the team the sole reason the arena sells out every night. But a guy like Juwan Howard or Joe Johnson types the should never make more than 10 million a year at the most.

Even juwon Howard got a 100 million dollar deal

That's when Stern first fukked us anally in '97. :sadbron:. shyt still hurts when I think of what could have been with a frontcourt of PJ Brown, Juwan Howard and Alonzo Mourning :noah:

Riley was on some :ninja2: :scheme:
And Stern was like :dry: :boss: :merchant:

If we got Juwan then we could have stolen one from MJ and the Bulls in the late 90's

We got them good in 2010 with the Lebron and Bosh coup didn't we :gladbron:

Yeah salaries around the turn of the century were insane...

I remember when Michael Finley and Allen Houston signed 100 mili deals.

shyt I remember you had cats like Matt Gieger had a 50 mili contract

:what:

The craziest was that one summer the sonics gave Jim mcilvaine a crazy contract and the jazz did the same thing for Greg ostertag. Mind u, these cats only get under 5ppg yet seeing damn near $50m contracts.
