Good, p2 felt about one trick pony ish. After a while the fighting gets kind of redundant anyway the hype was always too much

Wow I thought I was alone in thinking like that, to me part 1 is a far superior film and a sequel wasn't needed.

The sequel was written first. He just couldn't get the budget for it. So he shot The Raid 1 instead, and chopped the storyline into the second film. The choreography for it was mostly done too before he did the first. He just got a bigger cast and toys to play with. He's said it in tons of interviews.

Each film got its own fans, some like one more than the other.
Lotta people swear by TR1, but TR2 got a higher audience rating on RT and IMDB. I loved the badassery of the first, and the complexity of the second. Since im a sucker for over-complex "multi" storylines. Since i hate watching films with the "black & white" overly goody-two-shoes shyt.

good!

evans need to move on..plus raid 2 didn't exactly break box office and give him that prize..

both films were stupendous and grateful what and the crew have achieved..

Nah brah, you underestimating it. The films were always meant for the home video market. What theaters gonna play a 2.5 hour film in a foreign language and subtitles? Of course, it wasn't gonna do as well as the first one did; and Evans always said that the success of the 1st one was a huge surprise.

But you can bet The RAID 2 did very will on home video. Plus, i should also point out Box Office Mojo figures are inaccurate. They don't even include the numbers for Indonesia and Japan for the film.

I just really hope he changes his mind, and decides to get back on The Raid 3 in the next 2 years. He normally takes less than a year to film (last one was like 6-7 months).

I'm sure he's just doing other movies and he'll get to The Raid 3 eventually, say in 3-4 years. He has Blisters and Apostle coming out; Blister has Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian (Mad Dog), as well as Very Tri Yulisman (Baseball bat guy) and Yandi (IMDB lists breh as 'Prisoner,' from The Raid :patrice:).

I'mma check out the Blisters joint just off the strength of it having Rama and Mad Dog in it.

I think Blister is cancelled for now, just like TR3.
But he Just finished shooting APOSTLE last week. Its in post-production right now.

Films like these are primarily meant to show off the amaxing choreographed fight scenes. IMO they are not made for anything else. Ong Bak The Raid and The Raid 2 are classic examples. amma need me some Raid 3 at some point. Cant get jiggy with hollywood shaky cam, fast edit, stunt double lamo fight scenes all the time. We need some true art.
