Well what you see with the excessive sentencing is the prosecutors lashing out in the only way they can, and Ra Diggs doing the same….By being defiant and unrepentant to the end. It's not really about laughing at Diggs, but trying for the people on that side of the law to punish and deal with the murder, brutality and suffering they see on their end……Yes, many cases can become vindictive, which is why you avoid getting caught up in the system, because this side of it is THEIRS, and they will make you feel their weight. However, it is not as clear cut as malicious, evil prosectors railroading a freedom fighter, they are just two sides of a very similar coin…..If Diggs had it his way, I am sure none of those dudes would make their next birthday, but they are in their environment, and not his.
