I'm gonna also say Vanquish ....

Yeah, I'm gonna agree here. Best 17 bucks I've spent on a game. I need to replay it.

Also, essentially Arkham Asylum came outta nowhere for me, cuz intially I was not very interested in hearing about it, nor liking the picture stills that much really and it seemed like it was initially was having release date woes, so I was all the more thinking it was gonna crash and burn. Then the demo came out and I couldn't believe how solid the game felt. And then the actual game dropped and I saw that the demo couldn't hardly contain all of its awesomeness. Then Arkham City just took it to utter perfection and fixed with little wasn't top notch in the first one (mainly the boss fights) and added unexpected shyt that made it even more revolutionary.

Demon's Souls too. At first, I was only half-heartedly interested, but hearing it's overseas uproar somehow made me blind buy an import, which I've definitely never done before, but I was blown away after receiving my copy.

Twisted Metal 2(had just gotten my PSX, so I did not play the original until a year or two later)

Grand Theft Auto 3: Played 1 and enjoyed it, but 3 was a revelation.

Dante's Inferno: For a God of War ripoff, it was so much fun.

edit: Heavy Rain: went from maybe I will play it to :krs: I play it every year. fukking Brilliant.

Infamous for damn sure.

Suikoden and Shining Force way back when...

Bayonetta really surprised me too.

Uncharted 2

I remember seeing that they were adding multiplayer and I was like :what:

But the game dropped and it was a masterpiece :ohhh:

Came through to say this. Played the demo for the first one, didn't care about it. Heard about two and copped the first day off the strength of some GS credit I wanted to get rid of. Had no idea how much the game was bein' hyped up. Just wanted a TPS to play :manny:

Finally played it a few months later and the shyt blew me away. Felt like I was playin' a movie brehs :ahh:
