I think it all depends when did Ned meet up with his sister was that after the sack of kings landing or before. If it was after I could see him hiding the child of his sister but then Robert would not set up house with the lanniesters if Ned sister was still alive.

Ned and his crew got to the Tower of Joy after kings landing was sacked....he got there and Ned was the 1st one to see Jamie on the throne with the Mad King dead...he then left soon after because he got word that Lyanna was being held at that Tower. One assumes that Robert didn't go because he was busy with the whole becoming king thing.

The whole point of Robert fighting was to get Ned's sister. He seemed focused on that more so the becoming king.

I don't think that's all of it. Robert had to fight to save his ass and his House because after Brandon and Rickard Stark got murked, the Mad King demanded Robert's head as well. I'm sure most of Robert's fighting was motivated by a hate for Targaryens. After all Rhaegar defeated Robert in a tournament and sonned him further by hitting on his wife-to-be and then you have Mad King demanding his head for no reason.

And then there's the case of Robert killing the guy that could have told him where Lyanna was... :comeon:

Which book do they explain this in? I've been searching for more background on Lyanna.

Nah breh Jon Snow IS Azor Azai, the promised prince, secret targ etc. etc. He is not Ned's b*stard. In the book friend and foe alike scoff at the thought of Ned Stark betraying his honor. Someone with that much of a rep as an honorable man does not go around makind b@stards. Not even one. On another note Jon does take after Ned more than any of his trueborn kids. I couldn't see Rob ditching his broad like that to keep his oath. Homie pushed her down and didn't look back. lol

Seeing that pic just renewed my hate for the Freys. I wonder who's gonna make pies out of them later on since we haven't seen Wyman Manderly yet.

^^^^^ cot damn.

I have been thinking about Jon snow parents and I do not think Ned would lie about Jon being his sisters. He has a lot of honor and was not afraid Robert and I think he would have told him the child was innocent in the whole affair. I think Jon is Ned kid.

Ned made a promise to Lyanna on her deathbed, which I'm assuming is claiming Jon Snow as his son.

and on the show (can't remember if it happened in the book), Ned choked up when Jon asked about his mother and promised to tell him the truth -- but only after he's taken the black so Robert/Cat/everyone wouldn't eventually find out.
