Some GOT news (figured I'd post it here because them dudes in the other thread be catching the vapors over things that aren't even really spoilers):

3 Characters Announced For Season 4
The Magnar of Thenn. Styr isa major part of Mance Rayder's Wildling army — although a lot of his part in the book has already been given to Tormund Giantsbane. In the book, he leads the scouting party that climbs the wall, which Jon Snow and Ygritte are part of. But presumably he'll play some other huge part in the Wildling attack on Castle Black.

Mace Tyrell. The son of Lady Olenna and father of Margaery and Loras — we've already heard from Lady Olenna that he's a disappointment. Presumably coming to town for Margaery's wedding.

Oberyn Martell. (the Red Viper!!!) The first person from Dorne we've really met — he comes to King's Landing to take a seat on the Small Council, and winds up playing a huge role in Tyrion's storyline.

George R. R. Martin Writing Companion Book
The premise of the World of Ice and Fire book is that it is a copy of a tome presented to Robert Baratheon just after the Rebellion".

Martin himself has described the book as "the concordance … a compendium of the history and legends of the world of Westeros. A coffee table book, lots of gorgeous art from such talents as Ted Nasmith, Justin Sweet, and others", and said last summer that he was "making good progress on this one of late, lots of great historical stuff that I think my readers will enjoy. Never-before revealed details of Aegon's Conquest, the War With the Faith, The Dance of the Dragons, the Paramours of Aegon the Unworthy, etc."

His co-author Elio M García, meanwhile, of the fan site Westeros, said earlier this month that the compendium "won't be out this year … but that's because it's becoming rather cooler. More pages, more new history and details, more art. Like the story of the fall of the Tarbecks and the Reynes, the surprising person from whom the Lannisters are descended, more history of the Vale and the arrival of the Andals, and a good deal more. We're working quick as we can, but there's also more art to commission and that means it'd be safest to aim for next year."

The official line from Martin's publisher Jane Johnson is that The World of Ice and Fire will be out in spring 2014 – a bit of a delay, but "more to do with illustrative complications and global publishing schedules than the writing, and I certainly wouldn't want fans getting the impression that George is working on [it] at the expense of The Winds of Winter" – the next novel in the series and the book we're really all desperate for.

not till I see/read the bolton's and the freys wiped out, on some castemere shyt.

" Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear."

Winter is Coming....

Can they really wipe out that many Freys though? All of them nasty Frey hos (Gatehouse Ami :scusthov:) have been married off to houses throughout the country - don't think they'll ever be able to get rid of all the scum

:pachaha: @ the Avis & sigs, fukk it I'm in

Bought this shirt last weekend and gonna wear it under a sweatshirt during the whole episode. As soon as the Red Wedding goes down and the credits hit gonna rip off the sweatshirt on some old school nWo shyt :myman:

This fukk nikka is making a coffee table book instead of getting a sixth book of piff out to us fiends? :stunnadahell:

There was a fan backlash after the companion book was announced and GRRM's publisher has been working overtime trying to reassure fans that he isn't ignoring his work on the next GoT book in favor of this one.

Robb's death is not going to have the same impact on viewers that Ned's did.

People might be like :whoo:

But after Ned, people were like :to: :damn:

I think it might...my brother is non-book reader who considers Robb to be one of his favorite characters on the show and he actually is excited thinking Robb is going to successfully take Casterly Rock.
I think most viewers are going to be just as shocked as when Ned lost his head mainly because Robb's death will seemingly come out of nowhere to them.
