And he didn't lose the battle because of anything he did...Stannis played it perfectly and actually was poised for siege even AFTER the Wildfire explosion, Loras, the Tyrells and Tywin won that battle, without them Stannis wins. Still a jerk, but a able commander

And his "side piece" DID play a more major role because the things she did in his name had the most immediate impact.

even going without the book...she did more than he did at the time....its a simple concept really...people doing more things being on the screen more i know its difficult...

I think the dude playing Stannis did a fine acting job. That being said it was to me the worst book to tv portrayal so far. Nothing to do with the actor just the way he was written....every char so far has pretty much been spot on as far as the book but Stannis was a little off to me. Getting too emotional about shyt and doing some stuff that was out of character

Yeah while I did like his upgrades in the show him being in the front line and cutting down folks had me a little

Also I guess they did away with how Melisandre's shadow babies were supposed to sap his life force. After season 2 I pretty much treated the show as a separate entity.
