I was saying the same thing too but, I think because so much stuff happens before the main fighting breaks out that they probably didn't wanna risk it being too long. It probably would have been different if Thrones hadn't ended the way it did so I think they were playing it safe. Didn't have the luxury of people giving them the benefit of a doubt because they knew they had to repair the brand name with this one

HBO was iffy about doing this show, so they have a hard cut off at five seasons. That is why I'm not too critical of it.

I hate that they are skipping so much time rushing through these plots. That was one thing the original GOT did well. Pacing. You actually saw the kid actors grow up throughout the seasons. I grew attached to them.

I feel you on that but at the same time we can’t sit through 20-25 years worth of development. There was a 2 year time jump after Vis 1st wife died, a 10 year time jump, based on the preview we’re jumping another 5-10 years next week. It would take 3-4 seasons to get to this episode.
