Rhaenyra is flexing. Alicent is offended because Rhae is basically telling her "no matter what I do, who I do or who's daddy you fukk, I'm still gonna be Queen". Alicent and the other women in Westeros were groomed to play the game by it's "rules" and Rhae was raised to have no respect for the games "rules". They resent her for being allowed freedom that only the men had access to.

Exactly. It’s not her fault she was born with freedom and she shouldn’t have to switch it up after her father said that she is his heir.

They resent her because she’s allowed to do what she wants and no matter what, she still gets the thrown.

Nah... Alicent is fukking crazy and it's really her father's fault. Not once has it ever been mentioned by Rhaenrya or anyone else that her children would be harmed once Rhaenrya takes over. Otto planted that shyt in her head.

She has absolutely no reason whatsoever to hate Rhaenrya the way that she does. Rhaenrya even tried to remind her "fam we used to be best friends back in the day" and all she got from it was "this bytch think she slick", which may be true, but what she did ten years ago is a really weird reason to hate her, especially if it had nothing to do with her.

Again, this shyt comes down to Otto whispering in her ear that Rhaenrya is going to kill her kids.

She feels betrayed because Rhae wasn't honest with her but she went behind Rhaes back to seduce her Dad. She's a whole hypocrite. And after watching a second time I like how Rhae is basically telling everyone "I do what I want, you do what you can". Otto and Alicent thought they was slick.

And I think we are all glossing over that.

Alicent started it by marrying her dad. THAT is what set shyt off. Her father was scheming and she went along with it. She could’ve said no. So, no. I’m with Rhaenyra all the way.

Nah, breh. Rhaenyra is one of my favorite characters on the show, but she's objectively pretty fukking awful at courtly life and politics, primarily because she was both uninterested and largely excluded from them until her mid to late teenage years, when the show starts.

Set aside whether or not her and Laenor actually tried to have kid or not. Popping out three kids with Harwin. Allowing Laenor to name the most recent one after his dead lover. Also allowing Laenor to show absolutely NO concern for their general existence. All are completely garbage, JR Smith dribbling out the clock level decisions. shyt, even her idea to smooth things over with the arranged marriage doesn't even make sense. The solution to the queen knowing your kids are illegitimate is to marry one of said illegitimate sons to her legitimate daughter? The plan was to spend an extra generation giving the Queen's family back something via marriage when they technically already have it by birthright?

C'mon, breh. That's not efficient political posturing whatsoever.

I agree with your overall points re: why some don’t like alicent but at the bold we saw last night the king would’ve shut down that discussion…he did so in this episode despite how obvious her transgressions were…so if alicent brought up cole during that 10 year gap (it’s even possible she might’ve) he would’ve more than likely dismissed it…that’s one major flaw he continuously displays…dude just be looking the other way when it comes to personal matters under his roof…he seen cole and strong’s interactions with those kids and didn’t intervene at all smh

I disagree. The hand even pointed out that Alicent siding with Rhaenerya was a major factor in the King rolling with it. The rumors would’ve been too large to ignore as you see what’s happening right now. The King was about to strip her of being the heir over a random thought of a special stag as a symbol lol. Yea, he was lax with her but even he had a limit.
