‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel ‘House Of The Dragon’ To Launch In 2022; HBO Boss On More ‘GOT’ & Pilot That Didn’t Go – TCA – Deadline

House of the Dragon, HBO’s straight-to-series prequel to Game Of Thrones, is on track for a 2022 debut, HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys said in an interview with Deadline during TCA.


“My guess is sometime in 2022,” he said about when the series will debut, stressing that it is too early to be more specific than that.


“They are starting writing,” Bloys said of the project from George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal.

It was VERY obvious those two were in a rush to end GOT because of Star Wars
They simply did not care for the series at that point hence the ridiculous drop in quality
They rushed the shyt out of GOT
Had two whole years to produce a pile of garbage because they wanted to jam pack everything in the last two seasons so they can run to Star Wars

whether or not it was star wars, they rushed the end so they could move on to new projects. HBO shoulda pulled a power move and let them roll off while having new show runners do a full final four seasons.

it's still fukking absurd the show started with the white walkers murdering members of the nights watch, built that storyline up with jon snow for damn near the whole series, for night to only last one night and Arya killing the night king...wtf!

Yeah they suddenly wanted to do Star Wars in 2018 as if it's not possible they haven't been eyeing that project before then
