Eternal Darkness for the GC

Insanity effects. They basically were mind games played on the player to represent the loss of sanity your character had.

Not caping for any pedophilia that occurred on the part of the dev/s though.

I feel the only answer for this was to sell more colors for that $. They were REALLY stingy with the alt colors for that game lol.
They were real stingy with everything in that game.

That's why it flopped.

Mario 64 with the joystick controls and 3d camera.

Doesn't seem like much, but this was during a time when developers were still trying to make the shytty d pad work for 3d games and camera control was an afterthought.

sega saturn did it first with nights and they had the joy stick controller before 64

but to answer the question it would Zelda the Ocarina of time

Lock on targeting, open world, fast travel, inventory system, all the shyt is still used in modern games that started in this game

Nights was a 2d game with 3d graphics and a fixed camera view.

I'm not talking about the 64 system itself, mario 64 was the first notable game that handled 3d controls in a 3d environment correctly, along with the ability to control the camera view.

Now it's not, you control the character like mariio 64 until you turn into nights which is still 3D is just on rails

Earthbound had a dope “rolling” HP system. Say for example you have 50 hp and an enemy “one hits” you, you wouldn’t die instantly. Instead the HP would start rolling down to zero, potentially giving you a shot to get one more attack in to kill the monster or heal up before you die. Great for strategy and I really wish more RPGs did it

:comeon:

The small fraction of gameplay that happens in 3d is extremely limited and plays nothing like mario 64. The vast majority of the game is 2D, or 2.5D as they called it. If the game is on rails then it's not a 3D environment.

That game was closer to kirby 64 and yoshi's story than mario 64.
