I remember being a kid and seeing virtual fighter in the arcade and damn near lost my sh1t. I think it was my first time seeing a 3d fighter and I was miffed by it.

Sidenote but for the life of me I thought Final fantasy spirits within was the closest we would get to life like animation. I remember just being in awe at how real it was

NLF2k, you could see the actual faces of the players and they were the real faces.

Super Mario World SNES - I found it to be so amazing you could see the pockets on Mario's suspenders.

Oblivion 360 - Just a downright beautiful game that really made this generation feel impressive.

yep, Quake 2 was the first game with a 'real' 3D engine. also colored lighting

I remember playing through Unreal at like 5fps

C/S Spirits Within. The opening on that chicks eye still blows me away. Even now that animation holds up pretty well. It's crazy that this visual marvel almost killed Sony. I guess Metal Gear Solid was the first game to really have me in awe of the graphics where I was actually discussing the visuals. That or Super Mario World, that jump from 8 to 16 bit was mindblowing.

No bullshyt, the upgrade in graphics from Madden '94 on the Genesis to '95... I remember saying to my brother stuff like, "Check out the new graphics man, they're crazy!"
