Even if it’s a legit article (which it’s not) it would just disprove an expanding universe, which is one of at least three main explanations of the universe that scientists believe could be possible.

It was only in the 80s-90s with Hubble and other projects that found evidence for thre universe expanding at an accelerating rate, which led to the hypothesis of dark matter that would cause this accelerated expansion.

The scientific community wouldn’t be devastated as the article suggests. That’s their job. To discover, test theories over and over again to find errors or new theories.

That's what fundies can't accept/understand. Their are men and women in the scientific community who spent their careers trying break theories. The person who can topple a long standing, widely accepted theory will be on the short list for a number international scientific contribution awards. Part of Hubble's claim to fame (ironically) is disproving Einstein's static universe model. They went ahead and built the most powerful telescope in the world after that man.

Meanwhile, Breaking religious dogma will get you kilt.

Some of these words you're using don't mean what you think they mean.

I believe in G_d. I believe in Science. I kinda liked the Big Bang theory but as a Scientist you have to go with the evidence.

So if Big Bang is wrong then someone comes up with a different model.

Big Bang and atheism are not synonymous. If the Big Bang is proven wrong that STILL doesn't "prove" G_d exists.

the whole point of science is to update thinking when presented with new compelling data...

so if presumably the data shows our theories on the Big Bang are wrong or misguided(which the article gives no credible answer on) then any scientist worried about their past work shouldn't be doing science at all
