After going to Israel myself, as well as having been friends with + broken bread with Jews all my life, I get + respect Zionism. Jews have been pushed out and marginalized everywhere. All they really have to do to rectify the situation is recognize Palestine or allow Palestinians to become citizens of Israel. And contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of Jews and Israelis who would be OK with that. Just as it is with everything there are a few nutjobs at the wheel impeding progress.

Point is don't believe everything you hear or read. Tel Aviv is a beautiful city. Bethlehem and all that is a moving experience even if you're not religious. If you're curious at all about Jews and/or Israel you should just go. I had the opportunity to go in April and I'm glad I did. It was a great and eye opening trip and I look forward to going back.

Comparing the occupation of Israel to us "taking what's ours" (which is what exactly?) is disingenuous. Israel exists because the Allied Powers (US, UK, France) basically felt a need to immediately give Jews some reparations for their genocide.

Unless the day comes where we start killing whites in the Southeast and the POTUS turns a blind eye to it, we will never have a situation comparable to the Jews.
