:what: @ everyone saying this album didn't age well. How? This shyt still bangs.

It is still a solid album. Probably could have shaved a few songs off of it. The two Dre-produced joints on there were throw-away tracks of Dre's. Joints were still good too. :wow:

The album just doesn't bang like it did when it was first released.

G-Unit mixtape material aged better than their 2 studio albums.

G-Unit was about that rawness. That is what made G-Unit great. They captured it better on the mixtapes than studio albums.

Same thing with Banks' mixtapes vs. his studio albums.

Poppin Them Thangs and G'd Up throwaways? :what:

Those are 2 of the best beats Dre made in his entire career.

They sound great. :hubie:

Best of career? :whoa:

They were "throw-aways" in that Dre wasn't going to use them for his own, major projects. Usually the mix-down is the difference.

Same with the joints Dre did for Snoop's No Limit Top Dog album ("Buck Em", "Just Dippin", "B Please"). Those were leftover joints Dre made during the Chronic 2001 album phase.

Tons of good sh*t Dre didn't/hasn't used. Scott Storch said Dre would just :camby: beats they worked on that Storch thought were amazing. :mjlol:

Dre's leftovers are better than most people's best effort.

Plus, 50's hook-writing matched with Dre's tracks were an underrated component to 50's success. You got that on GRODT. The joints on Beg for Mercy. You got that with the Game's The Documentary.

Very good album, but I always wished Yayo was on there (yes, you read that right). Yayo killed the early mixtapes, and while Buck was very good, it's not the same without Yayo.

Agreed.

As a trio, Buck gave them broader appeal commercially and he worked for the time being and sales-wise. Yayo was the better fit, chemistry-wise and definitely with the mixtapes as a trio.

Even the later mixtape Return of the Body Snatchers was quite good with mostly just Banks, Yayo, and 50.
